How to Have Eternal Life

WHAT MUST I DO TO HAVE ETERNAL LIFE

Salvation is simple but it's not cheap. It cost Jesus Christ everything so that salvation could be offered to us freely. God has made His salvation available on the basis of a personal faith which even a child can exercise. Everyone is on the same level in the eyes of God, and must come to Him on the same terms.

• You are a sinner and cannot save yourself
  
  Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
  Titus 3:5 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
  
  
• Jesus Christ has already provided the way of salvation.
  
  John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  1 Peter 3:18 - For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
  Acts 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
  
  
• You must repent of your sins, confess them, and forsake them.
  
  1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  Proverbs 28:13 - He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
  
  
• You must accept His gift of salvation.
  
  Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
  
  
• Acceptance or refusal? It determines your eternal destiny.
  
  John 3:36 - He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
  Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
  
  
• You can be sure you are saved.
  
  John 10:27-29 - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
